Royal Caribbean Cancels Sailings Amid COVID Surge

In an email sent to travel agents, Royal Caribbean has announced they’re suspending operations for select ships “as a result of the on-going COVID related circumstances around the world and in an abundance of caution.”

    • – Vision of The Seas will not return to sailing until March 7, 2022
    • – Serenade of the Seas will not return until after a scheduled dry-dock on April 26, 2022
    • – Jewel of the Seas will return to sailing on February 20, 2022
    • – Symphony of the Seas will return to sailing on January 29, 2022

Passengers currently onboard Jewel of the Seas have posted to social media stating the Captain has informed those onboard that the ship would be suspending operations following their sailing.

According to Royal Caribbean, guests affected by these cancelations will be notified shortly and presented with options to consider provided they did not already cancel under the Cruise with Confidence policy.

In a statement sent to The Jet Set, Royal Caribbean said: “Our teams will continue to consider every option and resource to keep cruising safe and enjoyable as the world and the cruise industry continue to adapt.”

These cancelations come the day after Norwegian Cruise Lines made similar adjustments to their fleet.
