TheGO: Sandals Caribbean Cay

Still from TheGO segment on Sandals Caribbean Cay

A familiar Jamaican getaway is getting a new name and a fresh look. In this edition of TheGO, we’re taking a look at Sandals Caribbean Cay, the reimagined resort formerly known as Sandals Royal Caribbean.

Set in Montego Bay, the all-inclusive resort is scheduled to reopen on December 18, 2026, with refreshed spaces, new dining and an updated take on its private island experience. If you’ve stayed at Royal Caribbean before, you’ll recognize some of its signature features—with a few new reasons to return.

A fresh chapter for a familiar resort

Sandals says the transformation includes a redesigned, larger pool and an open-air lobby with views toward the water. The resort’s private offshore island remains part of the experience, giving guests another place to spend the day away from the mainland.

Meet Parisol Beach Club

One of the biggest additions is Parisol Beach Club, a new open-air venue on the private island. Sandals describes a relaxed beachside setting with a pool, swim-up bar, cabanas and a Jerk Shack—an option for guests who want a change of scenery without leaving the resort experience behind.

New flavors and overwater stays

The resort is also introducing Suppa, a restaurant inspired by the Jamaican tradition of gathering for Sunday dinner. Expect Jamaican comfort food designed for sharing. Sandals lists nine restaurants and five bars across the resort.

For travelers dreaming of a stay over the water, Caribbean Cay also offers overwater villas and bungalows near its private island. As with any resort, room features, availability and rates depend on the accommodation and dates selected.

What’s included?

Sandals lists dining, drinks, airport transfers, water taxi transfers to the private island, Wi-Fi, and select land and water activities among its inclusions. Certified divers can also take advantage of the resort’s scuba program. Check the details of your chosen stay for current inclusions and any activities that carry an additional charge.
