A man working for airlines/frontier-airlines-announces-discounts-on-new-routes-destinations.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>Frontier Airlines was stabbed to death Thursday on the tarmac at Philadelphia International Airport after getting into a fight with one of his coworkers.
According to Fox Philadelphia, 35-year-old Kevin Emanuel got into an argument with another World Flight Services employee over a light in the breakroom at around 11 a.m. local time Thursday morning.
After the argument escalated, Emanuel allegedly stabbed the 28-year-old victim in the stomach. The unidentified victim was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, but doctors pronounced him dead at 11:51 a.m. local time.
Emanuel has been charged with murder and possession of an instrument of crime.
Police revealed the men were contracted by Frontier to clean the airline’s planes and were in the breakroom at Terminal E when the fight broke out. Emanuel and another employee tried to run away from the scene of the crime, but airport police stopped them and Philadelphia police took them into custody.
Airport officials said no flights were impacted by the murder investigation.
A spokesperson for Frontier Airlines released the following statement:
“We’ve been made aware of an incident involving employees of Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) at Philadelphia International Airport. The Frontier Airlines family is saddened to learn about this event and our hearts go out to those touched by the tragedy. We have reached out to WFS to assist them in any way possible as they deal with this incident.”
