In a momentous moment, Enterprise Holdings announced the opening of the rental car company’s 10,000th location.
The opening of the new facility in Rockville, Maryland, comes 61 years after Enterprise opened its first leasing office with a fleet of seven cars. Enterprise Holdings now operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car brands around the world.
Each year, Enterprise handles more than 70 million car rental and car sharing transactions in more than 90 countries and territories.
“Opening our 10,000th location not only is a major milestone for Enterprise, but also for the entire global car rental and car sharing industry,” Enterprise COO Chrissy Taylor said in a statement. “This kind of growth further reinforces the industry’s leadership role overall and helps make local transportation infrastructure even stronger and more resilient, especially as technology evolves in the future.”
The new Rockville Enterprise location supports the company’s quest to meet the growing demand for mobility options in the Washington, D.C., marking the third branch opening in the Washington-area over the last several weeks.
As a way of celebrating the achievement, Enterprise is giving away 10,000 Enterprise Plus points to 10 lucky loyalty program members. Now through July 18, travelers can follow Enterprise on Twitter and share how they would use 10,000 Enterprise Plus points with the hashtag #Enterprise10KSweepstakes for the chance to win one of the bonus-point prizes.
