Singapore Airlines flight 37 departed from Los Angeles en route to Singapore on Saturday night, then apparently suffered a technical glitch that caused quite the alarm.
The plane squawked a 7500 code while crossing the Pacific Ocean not too far from LAX. However, the code was only briefly flashed, which indicated that it may be a technical glitch or a mistake.
The airline said the pilots were contacted and confirmed that there was no emergency on board. The flight continued normally for the rest of its 16-hour trans-Pacific journey and touched down at SIN on Sunday morning.
