Anti-Mask Passenger 'Moons' Crew

Maskless Passenger ‘Moons’ Crew

Flight attendants put up with way too much over the last two years. The pandemic has seemingly driven everyone to the brink of meltdowns, some more than others. On January 8th, a maskless passenger on a trans-Atlantic assaulted others and exposed his buttocks. Safe to say, the crew and passengers got more than they bargained for as they crossed the sky in the light of a full moon.

Maskless Passenger Moons Cabin

Delta Air Lines filed a federal complaint in the Eastern District of New York on January 8th. The company asserts that passenger Shane McInerney, 29, of Galway, Ireland, disrupted his flight. McInerney refused to wear a mask during an eight-hour flight from Dublin to John F. Kennedy International Airport on January 7th despite being told “dozens of times” to do so.

McInerney went on to throw an empty beverage can at another passenger. He kicked the back of the passenger seat in front of him. And finally, he put a fist up close to the flight captain’s face.

The complaint says that McInerney walked to the Delta One-class section to complain about his food to a flight attendant. When he began to return to his seat, he “pulled down his pants and underwear and exposed his buttocks.”

How Delta Handled the Situation

Even though the flight crew considered diverting the flight to remove McInerney, the plane continued to New York. Authorities, however, took him into custody upon landing.

McInerney appeared in Brooklyn Federal Court on January 14th under the charge of intentionally assaulting and intimidating a flight crew member. That is a felony that carries a maximum of 20 years in prison. Last week, the court set his bond at $20,000.

In the growing number of unruly passengers filling the sky, not many will be remembered quite as well as the mid-day moon.
