Genting Dream Will Increase Passenger Capacity to 75% by December 1

Dream Cruises announced that Genting Dream will have more passengers by December 1, 2021. Based on the latest Hong Kong guidelines, Genting Dream can now accommodate up to 75% of the ship’s capacity. That’s a significant jump from its current 50% capacity. This means 2,500 more guests for every Super Seacation voyage.

Dream Cruises is the first cruise company to resume operations in Hong Kong. The company came up with its ‘cruise to nowhere’ as an alternative to international travel. Instead, travelers sail in a big loop to and from Hong Kong with sailings that take 2-3 nights.

Over 70,000 Passengers Accommodated by the Genting Dream

Kent Zhu, president of Genting Cruise Lines said that “Dream Cruises is delighted to be able to increase passenger capacity onboard the Genting Dream to 75%”. Zhu added that “we would like to thank Hong Kong authorities for providing us with this stamp of approval on the effectiveness of our health and hygiene protocols”.

The cruise line accommodated over 70,000 passengers since their return on July 30. And what’s impressive is that the Genting Dream recorded zero COVID 19 incidents.

Dream Cruises believes that this will give a “boost to the holiday season for guests who have been unable to book their Super Seacation during this peak period”.  In their press release, the demand from Genting Dream cruises was “consistently high level since operations resumed”. Its Christmas and New Year’s sailings are both sold out.

The cruise line’s “A Nordic Christmas Adventure” will transform the ship with traditions of different countries from Sweden to Iceland. The sailing will imitate a Nordic village illuminated by lights plus a Swedish yule goat in its village square.

Dream Cruises also has a Thanksgiving flash sale from November 24 to December 7. Its fares start from $888 per person.

Zhu noted that “Dream Cruises will continue to work hard to provide residents of the city with the safe and worry-free vacation option that delivers a true ‘get-away’ experience that is Asian at heart and international in spirit”.
