Woman Caught Breastfeeding Her Cat in a Delta Airlines Flight

From passengers refusing to wear masks to aggressive passengers, these are some things that became too common in today’s flights. But once in a while, airline employees encounter weird incidents. This time around on Delta flight 1360 from Syracuse to Atlanta, a woman was caught breastfeeding her cat.

The incident was relayed to the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) by an airline employee. The flight crew reported that a passenger was “breastfeeding a cat and will not put cat back in its carrier when (flight attendant) requested”.

Breastfeeding Her Cat

Flight attendant Ainsley Elizabeth expressed the incident via TikTok. She said that “This woman had one of those, like, hairless cats swaddled up in a blanket so it looked like a baby”. She added that “Her shirt was up and she was trying to get the cat to latch and she wouldn’t put the cat back in the carrier”. Elizabeth described the cat as “screaming for its life”.

The Delta airline worker who reported the incident during the flight via the ACARS asked for the airline’s Red Coats team. The Red Coats are described as the “elite airport customer service experts” who wear bright red coats. They are “specially trained to handle on-the-top customer issues”.

However, it wasn’t clear what happened next after the plane landed in Atlanta. It is unclear whether the Red Coats team confronted the woman or not.

Delta’s Lactation Policy

According to Delta’s website, it stated that the airline “fully supports a woman’s right to breastfeed onboard Delta and Delta connection aircraft and in Delta facilities”. Delta’s policies allow small cats, dogs, and birds in the plane’s cabin. The passenger will only have to pay the extra fee. However, the pets must be placed inside the carrier at all times. The carrier will fit underneath the seat in front of the passenger. Also, Delta’s lactation policy doesn’t include animals.
