“Your Shot to Fly” Sweepstakes: United’s One Year Free Air Travel Raffle

White House is still looking to get more people to get vaccinated. Though millions already received their vaccines, it is still quite far from the number that could achieve herd immunity. White House is currently getting some form of assistance from businesses to encourage Americans to get vaccinated.

United Airlines now offers vaccinated individuals a chance to win one year of free air travel. This includes United Airlines’ global destination under their “Your Shot to Fly” sweepstakes. There will be five grand prize winners for the “Your Shot to Fly” sweepstakes. Also, there will be 30 winners to win a round-trip flight to any US destination in any class.

“Your Shot to Fly” Mechanics

To be able to join, you will first need to be part of United’s MileagePlus loyalty program. Next, you will have to upload your vaccination card via the United Airlines app or their site. According to United’s spokesperson Maddie King, even those who just had their first shot can enter the contest. And in case you have privacy concerns, you can still enter via mail-in sweepstakes.

According to United CEO Scott Kirby in a press release, “We’re proud to do our part to incentivize people to get their shot”. Kirby added that “Thanks to the vaccine, more and more destinations are opening up for travel—and we know our customers are eager to fly. We’re excited to give people one more reason to get vaccinated so they can reunite with friends and family or take that long-awaited vacation which all could be just one shot away”.

There are other businesses that helped the federal government promote vaccination. For instance, Krispy Kreme gave free donuts to vaccinated individuals. Budweiser is also doing similar where you can get a free beer when you received your COVID vaccine.

More People Traveling Again

More people are traveling again. Though it’s still lower than 2019’s numbers, domestic travel is picking up. United is even looking to hire more pilots. Also, some things previously removed due to safety reasons are now returning. Airlines are now serving both alcohol and coffee. On top of that, you can also book the middle seats again.
