Over a dozen passengers on an American Airlines flight needed medical attention Sunday after they became sick following a trip to Ecuador.
According to ABC13.com, officials from the Massachusetts Port Authority said the American Airlines flight landed at Logan International Airport in Boston at around 10:10 a.m. local time from Miami.

The plane was met by medical and emergency personnel who were called to the scene when the captain reported 16 people onboard had fallen ill during the flight. A Massachusetts General Hospital spokesperson said 14 people in total were admitted as patients.
An American Airlines spokesperson said the group of people was part of a field trip for a school, with every member of the party eating the same meal Saturday night in Ecuador, which likely caused the food poisoning that left the group sick.
While officials from the Boston Emergency Medical Services said the passengers’ symptoms were minor, other people on the same flight told local media outlets that several students were seen throwing up on the plane before it landed in Boston.
