After a report was published Saturday saying Boeing was guilty of shoddy production and oversight at its manufacturing plant in South Carolina, the company has denied the allegations.
According to NBCNews.com, The New York Times said the North Charleston factory is producing long-haul 787 planes that may not be safe, but Boeing vice president Brad Zaback said the report distorted information and rehashed old stories.

The original report said Boeing was producing long-haul 787 planes so quickly that officials ignored the issues raised by employees about potential problems, with some former workers claiming the company even sought retribution after complaints were filed.
While the report makes several damaging claims, it also says, “there is no evidence that the problems in South Carolina have led to any major safety incidents.”
The report comes as Boeing is under heavy scrutiny following two deadly crashes involving the airlines/president-trump-wants-boeing-to-rebrand-737-max-planes.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow noopener noreferrer”>737 Max series planes.
Zaback and the team at the Boeing plant in South Carolina invited reporters from The New York Times to see what production was like and explore the facility for themselves, but the newspaper “declined this invitation.”
The team at Boeing called the story “offensive” and said employees at the plant perform “rigorous quality inspections” that ensure the planes “perform exceptionally well in service for our valued airplane customers around the world.”
