Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday it would launch new service to Hilton Head Island this spring.
The airline revealed daily flights to the popular South Carolina tourist destination would debut on May 23 from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and seasonal service from New York‘s LaGuardia Airport would begin June 8.

When the new flights debut this spring, Hilton Head Island will become Delta’s 330th destination in its expanding global network. The service will also connect some of the Southeast’s premier beach and golf destinations to customers around the world.
“As the leading carrier in the Southeast, Delta will be bringing its award-winning customer service to Hilton Head,” Delta senior vice president Joe Esposito said in a statement. “The new flights to Atlanta, the industry’s leading airline hub, as well as the New York flight, will connect Hilton Head to the world.”
airlines/delta-extends-airbus-220-order-to-90-total-aircraft.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>Delta plans to operate the flights with Delta Connection carrier Republic Airline and serve the routes with its 69-seat Embraer 170 aircraft with seating for nine in First Class, 20 in Delta Comfort+ and 40 in the main cabin in an all aisle and window seat configuration.
“This is a great day for the Hilton Head Island Airport,” Hilton Head Island Mayor John McCann said. “Our community asks weekly for service on Delta Air Lines and will welcome the airline with open arms. The new flights will allow visitors from all over the world access, via two Delta hubs, to all that Hilton Head Island and the Low Country have to offer.”
