Delta has introduced customized in-flight entertainment systems, allowing passengers to enjoy a personalized experience through their seatback screens. This innovative technology is currently undergoing testing on a limited number of older-generation Airbus A321 aircraft.
This cutting-edge feature mirrors the familiarity of personal smart TVs. Passengers can pick up where they left off in movies or TV shows from previous flights, and their preferred shows and movies are readily accessible on their screens.
To access this feature, passengers simply log in using their SkyMiles account, and it’s complimentary for SkyMiles members, complementing Delta’s free WiFi service.
Delta has announced plans to make this personalized entertainment experience available on its entire fleet of around 125 Airbus A321-200s by the end of the year.
Personalization is a key aspect of Delta’s broader Delta Sync initiative, which includes the recent rollout of free WiFi on most of its single-aisle mainline aircraft this year.
Additionally, Delta has introduced Sync Exclusives, a cross-promotional platform for seatback screens. This platform offers passengers exclusive opportunities, such as complimentary trials of Paramount+ and special deals from Delta’s partners like T-Mobile and American Express.
Looking ahead, Delta intends to expand the Sync initiative to its widebody fleet in the coming year.
