Low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines announced Tuesday it has added six new routes and two new cities to its service schedule.
For travelers looking to visit the West Coast, Frontier is adding service to Santa Barbara and Sacramento in California starting in August. As for the new routes, the carrier is adding flights this summer to and from Raleigh-Durham, Detroit, Minneapolis, Austin and Salt Lake City.
To celebrate the addition of the new destinations and routes, Frontier is offering special introductory fares as low as $49 per person on the company’s official website.

“These additional six routes is further evidence of Frontier’s commitment to deliver on our mission to make air travel more affordable and accessible to 90 percent of America,” Frontier Airlines senior vice president Daniel Shurz said in a statement.
“We’re offering not only amazing low fares but a reliable and friendly service that allows customers to customize their travel experience to their needs and their budget,” Shurz continued. “This empowers more people than ever to fly. This is what our Low Fares Done Right philosophy is all about.”
The new destinations and routes are just the latest improvements from Frontier, which already include the option for customers to purchase bags and seat selections either a la carte or in one low-priced package called the Works bundle.
Frontier flies one of the youngest fleets in the industry, with nearly 80 Airbus A320 aircraft in service. The new planes allow the carrier to continue offering low fares while providing passengers a pleasant and reliable experience when flying with the airline.
