Dog Sledding

When the snow falls, the dogs run. Dog sledding is a popular activity for winter visitors to Canada and it was one of the primary modes of transportation before there were cars and snowmobiles.

Travelers will find many opportunities for dog-sledding throughout Alberta, whether it be in the metropolitan city of Calgary, the popular destination of Banff and Lake Louise or in Jasper—all of which enjoy regular air connections with Air Canada.

Northern Lights

All throughout the northern regions of Canada, travelers can see the Northern Lights. Whitehorse, Yukon, is one of the best places to view the aurora and guests can stop into the Northern Lights Centre at Watson Lake during their stay.

Yellowknife, in Canada’s Northwest Territories, is another top viewing spot. The city, located in the auroral zone, features Northern Lighthouses, viewing platforms located throughout the city.
