Sixt Rent a Car Expands to San Francisco’s Union Square

WHY IT RATES: Travel agents are always looking for the best car rental options for their clients, and Sixt’s new opening in San Francisco offers another West Coast consideration.—Donald Wood, Breaking News Senior Writer.

MORE Car Rental & Rail

Sixt Rent a Car, the global mobility provider with more than 2,200 locations in over 100 countries, is renowned around the world for offering customers “drive first class, pay economy,” a unique blend of premium vehicles, white glove customer service, and competitive pricing. Operating in the United States since 2011, the company recently revealed it has already grown to the #4 car rental brand in America, with 2017 revenue at $366 million.

Sixt has now officially opened its newest location at San Francisco’s Union Square. Today marks Sixt USA’s seventh opening this year alone, as well as its third location in the Bay area and second in downtown San Francisco.

“As the ground floor for some of today’s most innovative businesses, the Bay Area is truly a special place. We try and capture that same spirit of innovation at Sixt, which has led to our strong growth and reputation for excellent service in the U.S. market,” said Daniel Florence, COO of Sixt North America. “San Francisco is a gathering place of some of today’s brightest thinkers, and with frequent travel to and from the city, expanding our presence is a great way for us to continue to meet rising demand. Of course, the city is not all that Northern California has to offer: With beautiful national parks and travel opportunities just outside the Bay Area, there are countless opportunities for drivers to enjoy having a premium vehicle and our world-class customer service at their back.”

In 2018 alone, Sixt has moved into an upgraded facility at the Tampa International Airport, expanded its location at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and opened new locations at New York City’s Battery Park, Fort Myers International Airport, San Antonio International Airport, and the Denver International Airport. Last year, Sixt unveiled a newly-expanded offering at its flagship space in the Miami International Airport and at its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport location, launched a new location at the San Diego International Airport, and moved into its new North American corporate headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The company has grown to over 1,000 employees, and serves more than fifty-four rental locations located in California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Washington, Texas, Connecticut, New Jersey, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, and Massachusetts.
