A crew member aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Horizon was found dead Saturday as the ship made a call at Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
According to Cruise Hive, the employee, identified as Ravi Singh Bisht, worked in the Culinary Arts department since joining the cruise line in 2012. He is survived by his wife, mother, father, sister and brother, who all work for Carnival.

Singh Bisht was reportedly found dead after a “Galley party he attended the night before,” but Cruise Hive provided no further information on the incident. Carnival’s support team is working with his family, friends and co-workers to provide counseling.
The Carnival Horizon left Grand Turk two hours after it’s scheduled departure time due to the death and spent the following day at sea after skipping a port of call at Amber Cove. The ship was reportedly dealing with propulsion issues, according to Cruise Hive.
In total, 1,450 crew members are working on the new Carnival ship as it sails an eight-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary.
