For example, early risers can grab the breakfast buffet from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and those who want to sleep in a bit longer can eat between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The breakfast options include both hot and cold items.
The lunch buffet covers anything from light appetizers to hearty soups and homemade bread, or guests may choose to enjoy lunch while they are out and about for the day. Dinner is usually ready around 7:30 p.m., but with FlexDining, Avalon allows guests to enjoy flexible seating times and additional menu options.
In addition to dining options, Avalon also has plenty of choices for excursions, taking into account that no two travelers are exactly alike. There are options for all types of exploring, whether guests are classic travelers and prefer a local guide to guide them through the history of a destination or active travelers who enjoy a bit more adventure like biking or jogging through the sites.
In order to assist guests, Avalon Waterways created the AvalonGO App. This allows travelers to have access to their itinerary and transfer information and customize their trip as they see fit. The app also offers entertainment, sightseeing, dining and shopping suggestions for each area visited.
Beginning in 2020, Avalon is offering a new Your Way program allowing guests to extend their cruise with either an Avalon Waterways land extension or a land tour through Globus or Monograms. Travelers can add the land portion on before or after their cruise.
Globus gives travelers a group setting as they are escorted through the additional part of the vacation, and Monograms is an independent vacation package with a Local Host available as needed.
