Emerald Waterways has announced new details and an inaugural promotion for its newest Star-Ship, the Emerald Harmony. The ship will sail the Mekong river between Vietnam and Cambodia beginning in August 2019.
The boutique-style vessel will accommodate 84 guests in 42 staterooms and suites. She features 32 Panorama Balcony Suites (273 sq. ft.) with drop-down windows; four Grand Balcony Suites (398 sq. ft.) and two Owner’s Suites (450 sq. ft.) with wrap-around terraces and private hot tubs.
The ship also features a pool and an Asian-themed Horizon Bar & Lounge. The main dining venue, Reflections Restaurant, will serve locally-inspired cuisine. And, the Lotus Lounge on the Vista Deck offers a relaxation spot for guests.
Notably, the Emerald Harmony’s design will allow it to access the center of Ho Chi Minh City. That’s a point of distinction with other ships on the market. Guests typically must disembark outside the city and take a motorcoach transfer.

Emerald Waterways will offer three different itineraries aboard the Emerald Harmony. The 13-day Majestic Mekong river cruise and tour sails between Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap with time to explore Angkor Wat. The 17-day Treasures & Temples of Vietnam & Cambodia river cruise and tour adds stops in Hanoi and Halong Bay. And, the 21-day Grand Tour of Vietnam & Cambodia river cruise and tour includes Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue and Siem Reap.
Included in all three itineraries is the metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. In the Mekong Delta region, guests will visit the family-owned Lanh My A Silk producing factory and the quiet village of My An Hung. In Cambodia’s capital of Phnom Penh, tours include the elaborate Royal Palace complex and the Killing Fields of the Khmer Rouge. Guests will also visit a local monastery for a traditional Buddhist blessing. And Siem Reap brings the chance to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the world’s largest temple.
For guests who book by August 31, 2018 Emerald is offering an inaugural special of free round-trip airfare to Asia and $100 on board credit per person. In the alternative, guests can choose a $3,000 per couple discount on the sailing. Guests who pay in full by August 31, 2018 will also receive an additional $1,000 per couple savings.
Cruise fares include transfers; port charges; wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; bottled water in the cabins replenished daily; complimentary Wi-Fi and excursion gratuities. Hotel accommodations, internal flights and transfers are also included on tour days.
