Paul Gauguin Cruises has debuted a new seven-night Society Islands & Tahiti Iti itinerary on its m/s Paul Gauguin.
Tahiti Iti is the smaller of two land masses that comprise the island of Tahiti. It’s known for its wild coastline, marae (temples), Polynesian culture, and surfing. The m/s Paul Gauguin will call in the port of Vairao on Tahiti Iti on a roundtrip cruise from Papeete.
The itinerary also calls on Huahine, Society Islands; Motu Mahana (Taha’a), Society Islands; Bora Bora, Society Islands (overnight) and Moorea, Society Islands. Departures will take place in June, August, October and November. A special ten-night sailing takes place in September.
The line will also debut optional shore excursions on Tahiti Iti. They include visits to the
Bonjouir’s Garden of Eden nature sanctuary, the Vaipahi Gardens and the small village of Teahupoo, home to the Billabong Pro Tahiti international surfing competition.
Snorkeling tours will take guests to the Tahiti Iti Lagoon and coral garden. A half-day E-Bike tour ventures from Vairao to Teahupoo, and up the Taravao Plateau, where sweeping views await.
And, a golf excursion takes place at the 18-hole Olivier Bréaud International Golf Course, site of the Open International de Tahiti.
Certified divers can also take part in excursions to Vairao bay’s famous drop-offs, home to reef fish, corals and indigenous sea fans.
Cruise fares start from $5,595 per person, based on double occupancy, for the seven-night Society Islands & Tahiti Iti voyage and from $6,045 per person, based on double occupancy, for the 10-night Society Islands & Tuamotus sailing. Fares include roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles.
