Sit Back and Relax at the Four Seasons Hong Kong

  • Picture of TJS News TJS News

An urban oasis within the city, Four Seasons, like Hong Kong, is nothing and everything you’d expect it to be.

From impeccable service 24 hours a day to an infinity pool that plays music for your underwater listening pleasure and poolside sorbet, no detail is forgotten or too small.

What makes this five-star property different from others around the world? Four Seasons in Hong Kong Island’s Central District recently released a Masters of Wellness series at the spa, updated the Lounge menu with new Well Feeling items and introduced a Well Feeling Meeting Package so guests can decompress, unwind and reenergize, even while staying smack in the middle of a bustling financial neighborhood.

A Delicious Well Feeling Menu for Continued Health

The Well Feeling menu, created by the hotel’s Executive Chef Andrea Accordi and recommended by nutritionist Miles Price, includes anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich foods, healthy fats and lots of fruits and veggies.

Some of my favorites include the breakfast Kombucha, the Alaskan King Crab Salad, and the Char Grilled Black Cod Fish, which supports the immune and cardiovascular systems. You can order from this menu at the Lounge, the pool terrace and even straight to your room.

Soon, this menu will also be available in the hotel’s Michelin-rated Cantonese restaurant, Lung King Heen, as well as at the Michelin-starred French restaurant (open for lunch and dinner), Caprice, that serves creative cocktails and everything from extravagant cheese plates and caviar to hefty meat courses in a dimly-lit environment.

It’s nice to know that while pigging out on vacation, you can still make healthy choices that don’t compromise enjoyment or flavor.

A Well Feeling Meeting Package for Business Travelers

Ideal for groups of 20 to 40 guests, the Well Feeling Package includes a fresh juice bar and Well Feeling breakfast with a 10-minute group meditation, a coconut-themed coffee break with an assisted stretch corner, a Well Feeling lunch followed by a 15-minute guided meditation session and an afternoon break with a tea infusion tasting station.

Meditations are led by the Spa Director, Shoshana Weinberg, and the Fitness Centre team helps guests relax by stretching out tired muscles.

Add-ons to this package (at an additional cost) are yoga, meditation, cooking classes, weight training, hiking, Tai Chi, functional medicine workshops and more.

Masters of Wellness Series: Crystal Healing, Massage, Meditation and More

This spa series includes various activities and workshops like soul and astrology readings with in-house spiritual intuitive Justin Andries and Bowen Therapy—a hands-on technique meant to holistically address symptoms, as well as the root, of body pain—with Caroline Kremer.

I was lucky enough to visit during the full moon, when the monthly Full Moon Meditation (open to hotel guests and outsiders, contact the hotel for details and pricing) took place. My best friend and I found this fitting, as we were both looking to start a “new year” with a clean slate.

This meditation, also led by Weinberg, was not what I thought it would be, but relaxing and lovely nonetheless. The short meditation begins with a bit of conversation and reflection and continues with lying down and closing your eyes in a quiet, cozy space. There are blankets for everyone and we were given lovely little sachets to take home. After the meditation, there’s an opportunity to socialize (it seemed to me like a lot of the women in attendance were regulars) while enjoying a special light bites menu with wine and a healthy cocktail. This event reminded me that when trying something new for the first time, it’s always important to go in with an open mind.

Other mindfulness treatments include a two-hour Vital Energy Crystal Healing session and Nourish the Soul, a luxe three-and-a-half hour(!!) treatment that incorporates a full-body massage, a sound bath with Tibetan singing bowls, touch therapy, a floral bath and more.

Soon, the hotel will offer meditation for everyone, easily accessible through apps on iPads located in the spa’s relaxation lounge and the nail bar. Art therapy with adult coloring books is also on the horizon.
