There are hotels with stellar views and then there’s the Gevora.

The Dubai property, which opened in February, holds a Guinness World Record for being the tallest hotel on the planet.

The towering building is an awe-inspiring 1,169 feet tall and includes 75 stories. All of which, is particularly noteworthy because the luxe hotel is now offering day passes to those who would like to take in the view from its pool deck, even without being a hotel guest.

For about $40 during the week and $54 for weekends, those with no fear of heights can hang out at the sky-high pool and also access the hotel’s viewing deck on the 75th floor, according to Lonely Planet.

In addition to offering views quite unlike any other location, the Gevora’s pool includes a 13-foot kids’ swimming area.

The downtown Dubai hotel took four years to build and features 528 hotel rooms, which go up to the 71st floor, according to Guinness World Records.

Originally planned as a residential building, it was later converted to a hotel. As TravelPulse’s Monica Poling reported in February, the record-breaking property includes four restaurants, an open-air pool deck, a luxury spa on the 71st floor and health club and Jacuzzi. There’s also 232 deluxe rooms, 265 one-bedroom deluxe rooms and 31 two-bedroom suites. Each room is equipped with a built-in kitchenette, high-speed internet, interactive television and premium amenities.

With all of its opulence, room prices at the Gevora remain relatively modest at about $191 per night.

“We are going into the market at a rate slightly lower than the average around this area. The room rates that we will offer is considered very competitive,” the hotel’s General Manager Jairaj Gorsia, told Guinness World Records. “Our guests are looking for a good bed, a good cup of coffee and convenience. The hotel is in the center of Dubai and we offer high-quality service, in contrast to many of its neighboring five-star hotels.”

Prior to Gevora’s arrival on the scene, the world’s tallest hotel the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, formerly known as Emirates Park Towers Hotel & Spa. That building is a mere 1,165.84 feet from ground level to the top of its mast, making it about one meter shorter than Gevora.

Dubai has outdone itself once again.
