Amtrak Offers Valentine’s Day Trip For Two

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, which means last-minute gifters are looking for ideas. Flowers and chocolates are overdone (but let’s be honest, never turned down). Amtrak has a different vision for lovers who want to do something to celebrate uniquely. The company offers an easy way to surprise your significant other (or anyone you want to spend time with) with a Valentine’s Day trip.

Amtrak’s Valentine’s Day BOGO Trip

Amtrak announced another ticket promotion for Valentine’s Day: the “Amtrak Loves You Sale.” Until February 16, customers can buy one ticket and receive one for free to take a companion of their choice. The trips must take place on any date available from March 1 till August 31. When purchasing the tickets, travelers should include both tickets and enter the promo code “V214” at checkout on the website. Prices vary between the company’s standard fares and those on the Acela trains.

Destinations and Prices

Below are some of the fares travelers can expect to find on the website.

  • New York – Philadelphia for $18 and $51 on Acela.
  • Chicago – Milwaukee for $25.
  • Boston – New York for $29 and $69 on Acela.
  • Washington, DC – Atlanta for $106.
  • Los Angeles – Seattle for $101.
  • Philadelphia – Washington for $18 and $57 on Acela.
  • Charlotte – New York for $101.
  • Oklahoma City – Fort Worth for $31.
  • Washington, DC – New York for $29 and $80 on Acela.
  • New York – Providence for $25 and $66 on Acela.
  • Albany – New York for $36.
  • Philadelphia – Savannah for $112.

COVID Considerations

Amtrak spent most of the last two years advancing its technology to keep its passengers safe. All passengers over the age of two must wear a mask. Travelers are only permitted to remove them briefly to eat or drink.

Of course, this Valentine’s Day trip isn’t only for romantic couples. Amtrak wants you to bring your best friends, siblings, and significant others.
