Couple Catches Strangers Having Sex in Their Cruise Cabin

Bobby and Mary Jackson boarded the Norwegian Jewel ship in October to take their dream cruise from Singapore to Thailand.

Their excitement instantly turned to horror when they opened the door to their cabin and found a naked crewman having sex with a woman on their bed.

“I was horrified,” Mary, 62, said. “What I witnessed was extremely unpleasant. There was a man and woman having sex on the bed in our designated room.”

“I immediately closed the door again. Eugene, our cabin attendant, was present and he immediately went to inform his supervisor. We are not prudes but this was ridiculous.”

The couple had paid £4,800 (or $6,183) for a week-long cruise through Asia, and catching strangers having sex in their room was not on the itinerary.

“I shut the door immediately and we went into the cabin next door where my sister was staying while the staff sorted this out,” Mary said. “I was traumatized and I needed a glass of water.”

The Jacksons complained to the ship’s guest relations manager, but the boat was full and an alternative room was not available.

“We went back to the cabin and tried to go back in there but although the woman had left, the male was still there,” Bobby said. “Two of the ship’s crew in white uniforms eventually persuaded him to leave. He looked very sheepish.”

“I asked if the crew knew him and they told me he was a worker on the boat.”

It’s not clear who the woman involved was.

The Jacksons were compensated for the whole debacle with a mere £100 (or $129) of credits to spend on the cruise.

This nightmare wasn’t the only drawback to the cruise, as Mary took ill with a stomach bug two days in and had to stay in the defiled cabin for most of the remaining part of the trip.

After returning home, the couple wrote to Norweigan Cruise Line about their experience. Again, the cruise line tried to make it up to the couple with credits, this time with £200 ($257) cruise credits which are only good on a cruise experience with the company this year.

As expected, the couple were not happy with the offer and are still in discussions with the cruise line on compensation.

And if you’re wondering what happened to the cruise worker and the mystery woman? Norwegian Cruise Line gave a vague statement that indicated that “appropriate action” has been taken.
