Facebook CEO’s Sister Says Alaska FA’s Didn’t Stop Harassment From Another Pax

Zuckerberg shared her letter of complaint regarding the incident, which took place on recent a flight from LA to Mexico, via Twitter.

Businesswoman Randi Zuckerberg has publicly criticized airlines-mileage-plan-442/” target=”_blank”>Alaska Airlines after revealing that she was forced to endure “lewd sexual remarks” from a fellow traveler on a recent flight from Los Angeles to Mazatlán, Mexico. In a letter to the carrier as shared by Zuckerberg via Twitter and quoted by airlines-for-allowing-passenger-to-make-lewd-sexual-comments-during-flight.html” target=”_blank”>Fox News, she blames Alaska for “knowingly and willingly providing this man with a platform to harass women.”

Zuckerberg was seated next to the man in the first-class cabin when the incident occurred on Wednesday, the outlet reports. Recounting the incident in her letter to Alaska, she says, “He [the man] started talking to me about touching himself, kept asking me if I fantasized about the female business colleague I was traveling with, rated and commented on the women’s bodies boarding the aircraft as they walked by us, and many more equally horrifying and offensive comments.”

Zuckerberg, who is the sister of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, said that she attempted to bring the incident to the attention of cabin crew, but was shocked to find that staff were familiar with both the man and his behavior. “When I brought it to the flight attendants’ attention, their response was that this guy was a frequent Alaska Airlines traveler on this exact route, and they have had to talk to him about his behavior in the past, but oh well, don’t take it personally, this guy just doesn’t have a filter,” she said in her letter.

Zuckerberg was offered a new seat at the back of the plane, which she declined, and says that the man spent the rest of the flight drinking and making more inappropriate comments.

Alaska Airlines, however, was quick to respond to the incident, which it described as “very disturbing.” In a Twitter exchange with Zuckerberg, the carrier said, “We have launched an investigation and have revoked this passenger’s travel privileges pending the outcome of that investigation.”
