Copa Airlines, a member of the global Star Alliance airline network, is celebrating 15 years of connecting the Washington D.C. area with its extensive network of routes through the Hub of the Americas®, located at the Tocumen International Airport, in Panama.
“We are very proud of our 15 years of operation in Washington, D.C. connecting two magnificent destinations,” said David DeFossey, commercial regional manager for North America of Copa Airlines. “Copa Airlines is committed to continuing to provide seamless connections for travelers to Latin America and the Caribbean. We thank Washington Dulles International Airport authorities, our travel industry leaders, the community and allies for trusting us to continue connecting travelers with all of the Americas safely and efficiently while contributing to the tourism and economic development of the area.”
Washington D.C. became Copa Airlines’ fifth U.S. destination when it started servicing the Washington D.C. area July 15, 2007. The Washington, D.C. and Panama City route linked two important centers of finance and international relations, as well as increased options for business and leisure travel throughout Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Copa Airlines has a total of 18 flights per week including two, daily non-stop flights. All flights are operated with modern Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, with the capacity to carry 16 passengers in business class and 144 in the main cabin.
