The Oregon Coast is a favorite area for so many—in fact, many families and individuals make it a routine vacation spot! The Upper Midwest is often characterized—perhaps even stereotyped—as an expansive land of “nothing”. Hundreds of miles of rolling hills are pleasant for paintings, but people tend to avoid them for trips! However, the upper Midwest actually has so much to offer. This area contains some of the biggest and most popular, (as well as some of the lesser known or underappreciated) national parks. For example, Picture Rocks National Lakeshore is a great place to enjoy natural beauty and outdoor activities. Theodore Roosevelt Park in North Dakota, the Badlands of South Dakota, Isle Royale in Michigan… All of these are stunning spots of vivid color and terrain that most people don’t even know exist! Add these to your bucket list of national parks! The south’s coastline has some of the most diverse land in the country, especially in regards to the wildlife, plant life and water features. Plus, many of these parks are fairly close to each other in proximity… so you can park-hop from spot to spot and enjoy a whole range of amazing landscapes!
