With travel re-opening, we decided it was time to check out Knoxville, Tennessee!

Where We Stayed: The Oliver Hotel

Situated in the heart of Knoxville, just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Market Square, the historic Oliver Hotel is perfectly located for your trip. All of the amazing sights and food you would want to experience is right within walking distance. Recently renovated with modern amenities and contemporary elegance, the rooms are exquisitely appointed and feature original local artwork, and luxurious amenities, all wrapped up in East Tennessee hospitality.

Where We Ate: The French Market

Knoxville’s first and only authentic French crêpe restaurant. After falling in love with Paris (and getting engaged at the top of the Eifel tower!) French Market owners, the Tates, sourced a French flour manufacturer/supplier that would ship to the states, ordered the cast iron griddles & the rozells, (the little wooden crêpe spreaders) and taught themselves how to make crêpes and galettes, crispy buckwheat crêpes. The secret to their crêpes is using imported-flour from France to get that true & authentic flavor. The flour, both traditional and buckwheat is now imported bi-monthly by the ton! They sourced Lavazza coffee and espresso, the very popular & bestselling coffee in Europe with the famous blue and white cup.

Where We Visited: The Tennessee Theater

The magnificent Tennessee Theatre first opened its doors on October 1, 1928 and was hailed as “the South’s most beautiful theatre.” When the first patrons stepped inside downtown’s “movie palace” to see their favorite stars on the silver screen, they paid only 40 cents for matinees and 60 cents for evening shows (children paid only 10 and 15 cents). Designed by Chicago architects Graven & Mayger, the Theatre has a Spanish-Moorish style interior that incorporates elements from all parts of the world: Czechoslovakian crystals in the French-style chandeliers, Italian terrazzo flooring in the Grand Lobby, and Asian influences in the carpet and drapery patterns. It was one of the first public places in Knoxville to have air-conditioning.

Where We Drank: Knox Brew Hub

Beware of the Sour Beer! That’s all we’ve got to say (make sure you watch the video to find out why!). Knox Brew Hub is a craft beer bar in Knoxville that features craft beers from various breweries found around the city. They also offer tours, a podcast and hold various events at The Hub weekly.
