As circulation of viral video has increased in recent years, American Airlines has begun requiring all flight attendants and company employees who work with the public to undergo training in how to effectively de-escalate tense situations with customers – training that will go to approximately 65,000 employees. The training was reportedly initiated last summer, and is planned to proceed for the next few months.
