Cops Called by British Airways to Respond to Irate Flyers at Heathrow

At around 11:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, British Airways summoned armed police to its business class lounge at Heathrow Airport (LHR) in order to respond to an allegedly escalating situation involving irate BA flyers. Over a hundred BA flights were canceled yesterday as a result of heavy snowfall.

Afterward, A BA spokesperson claimed that armed personnel “were not called upon to help with any problems, they simply offered their assistance as escorts to help customers leave as quickly as possible.”
