Flash Sale: 65,000 SkyMiles to Asia, Round Trip (Ends At Midnight)

Flash Sale: 65,000 SkyMiles to Asia, Round Trip (Ends At Midnight)

Delta Air Lines is offering SkyMiles members special award pricing on select routes to Asia for fall, winter and spring travel.

The flash sale lists round-trip economy tickets for 65,000 SkyMiles, and Premium Select seats, Delta’s new class of service, are going for 80,000 SkyMiles. Please note that Premium Select is not offered on all routes.

I know what you’re thinking. Delta doesn’t publish award charts, so how can we know the sale is really a sale? Just because there are no published redemption rates, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Even though low-level awards are not always available, the air lines still adheres to certain rates set for each region.

To take advantage of the discount, make sure to book your ticket by 11:59 p.m. ET on Aug. 16. Destinations include Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, South Korea, and Manila, Philippines, but you might be able to find other cities that work.

Travel dates vary by country. Travel from the U.S. to Japan, Singapore and the Philippines must occur between Oct. 30 and Jan. 31. Travel from the U.S. to Korea is permitted between Nov. 18 and Jan. 31. Travel from the U.S. to China and Hong Kong must occur between Jan. 17 and April 17. For more details and blackout dates, go here.

Let’s take a look at some examples. A round-trip ticket from Los Angeles to Hong Kong in March costs 65,000 SkyMiles + $69 for a trip in March. This award usually costs 70,000 SkyMiles at low level pricing.

Availability depends on the city pairs, but some routes have plenty of available dates. For example, below is availability for round-trip flights between Atlanta and Beijing in Delta Premium Select in February. As you can see, the flights are begging to be booked for 80,000 SkyMiles per person.

If you’re thinking to book one if these flash sales from the U.S. to Asian destinations, do not wait too long. They will turn into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight.
