Hawaiian Bats Around Basic Economy Class

According to Hawaiian Airlines CEO Mark Dunkerley, the carrier is considering adding basic economy class aboard flights, joining several other carriers in offering the option. Dunkerley went on to say that the challenge in adding this seating option is not insulting customers by providing an inferior experience.

“When you’re going to Hawaii, when you’re plunking down that level of household expenditure, you don’t want to be told that you’re so cheap that you don’t rate a meal,” said Dunkerley.
