KCI Flyers Stranded for 12 Hours of Frozen Runway

On Tuesday, a number of Delta Air Lines flights were delayed at Kansas City International Airport (KCI) due to icy conditions that affected the airport’s runways. One Delta-operated aircraft in particular was left stranded on the tarmac from about 6:30 a.m. local time to 6 p.m., although passengers were allowed off the plane to purchase food during the delay.

One passenger, who claims to have needed to use two vacation days at her place of employment due to the delays to her schedule, also claims that Delta offered her a $100 voucher for her troubles.
