The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has reported that, since 2014, 30 Air India pilots were caught with alcohol in their bloodstream before the flight. Among the numbers, six pilots tested positive in 2015 and 12 pilots tested positive last year – a record number. According to the Deccan Herald, on the first offense, the pilot’s license “will be suspended for three months and it is three years in the case of second violation.” On the third offense, the pilot’s license terminated.
