Royal Caribbean’s World Cruise: Sail Around the World for 274 Nights in 2023

Royal Caribbean announced its 274-night world cruise set for 2023. According to the cruise line, it is “the longest and most comprehensive world cruise out there”. Prices start at $61,000 per passenger.

The cruise line will sail from Miami and travel to all seven continents. Passengers will get to visit 150 destinations in 65 countries.

“The Ultimate World Cruise” will be visiting Casablanca in Morocco, Antarctica, and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Other stops will also include Brazil by New Year’s Eve and Beijing.

World Cruise on the Serenade of the Seas

Passengers will get to see the world on the Serenade of the Seas. The cruise ship has 13 decks, a mini-golf course, an arcade, a rock climbing wall along with other amenities. The Serenade of the Seas can accommodate almost 2,500 passengers and more than 800 crew members.

There will be four legs to the Ultimate World Cruise namely the Americas, Antarctica, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, and Northern Europe. If you can’t stay for 274 nights, passengers can also book these legs individually.

The trip is a pricey one! The cheapest interior state room is at $61,000 per person. It goes up from there with the ocean-view stateroom at $65,000 and the balcony stateroom is at $79,000 per person.  But this isn’t the most expensive room. The junior suite is at $112,000 per person.

The good news is that passengers can still get a 10% cut if they pay in full by January 6, 2023. Also, the prices for the four individual legs will be announced in December.

The cruise industry was among the most affected industries during the start of the pandemic. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a no-sail order in March 2020. And even if the cruise ships can now sail once again, the cruise industry hasn’t fully recovered yet. Carnival Cruises had to sell six of its cruise ships last June after recording a $4.4 billion loss.

President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Michael Bayley believes that the timing is right to launch the world cruise. He said that “Now more than ever, people have resolved to travel the world and make up for lost time”.
