Walt Disney World Will Allow Maskless Photo-Ops Outdoors

Walt Disney World is set to relax its mask protocols for guests. Though masks are required for guests aged 2 years old and up and even for vaccinated individuals, Walt Disney World announced a few exceptions.

There are a few times you can remove your mask. Their website states that “you may temporarily remove your face covering while actively eating, drinking, or taking an outdoor photo”. However, if you don’t have any face covering, you will have to be “stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing”.

Disney World also requires their guests to undergo temperature check upon entering and observe social distancing.  Those activities that involve person-to-person contact will not be available at the moment to prevent possible infections. Disney World staff will also be doing frequent sanitation and cleaning. And lastly, guests should wash their hands regularly.

Arrested After Refusing a Temperature Check

Police arrested a guest in Disney World after he refused the routine temp check. With a no temp check, no entry policy, he was trespassing private property. While restrained, he kept saying to the officers that he spent a lot only to be arrested. Kelly Sills said that “I paid $15,000. You can’t trespass me for paying $15,000”.  He also claims that he is a shareholder at Disney World.

At one point, Sills said, “will you take my temperature before you kick me out, please?”. The deputy then replied that “they’ll do that in jail, sir”.

This wasn’t the only time Disney World experienced guests who are breaking safety protocols. Some employees experienced harassment from some guests as they impose COVID19 safety protocols.

In December, park visitors were refusing to wear their masks. The amusement park did not give the PhotoPass photos taken during the rides for the maskless guests. However, Walt Disney World News was reportedly digitally altering photos. Disney World madded masks to riders’ faces to allow properly masked park-goers to still have their copy.
