Want to Fly First Class? There’s a School for That

Frequent Traveler University gives outsiders a class on traveling at the front of the cabin.

If you want to find more ways to jump to the front of the aircraft, a traveling seminar wants to help you get there faster. Business Insider reports the next Frequent Traveler University (FTU), coming to Chicago on November 17, 2017, is one of many events organized with the goal of helping you travel better.

On their website, Frequent Traveler University calls itself “the world’s premier educational series of seminars devoted to teaching traveler’s the best way to maximize their frequent flyer miles, hotel points and credit card rewards.” The classes are taught by noted experts on credit card programs and travel award experts and are aimed at travelers of all skill levels – from beginners to points-savvy flyers.

How do FlyerTalkers feel about these events? In a thread detailing the differences in programs, user toomanybooks wrote: “There are so many tricky things out there the mind boggles, thousands of tips, and a lot of it will never make its way onto the internet…everyone gets some good material.” From attending a previous FTU, FlyerTalker alanro wrote: “The most useful sessions were the ones where we were able to access the Internet during the session and practice creating mock revenue and reward itineraries using tools such as Expert Flyer.”

According to FTU, their organization has organized over 30 events in the last seven years, with a combined attendance of 8,000 frequent flyers. After November 2017, the next event has yet to be announced.
