The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a plane went down near Anahuac Saturday afternoon. Sources said Boeing 767 crashed into Trinity Bay shortly before 12:45 p.m.

“Giant 3591” and “591 Heavy” are both call signs for Atlas 3591
The Federal Aviation Administration issued an alert on Atlas Air Fight 3591 after losing radar and radio contact with the plane approximately 30 miles southeast of Bush Intercontinental Airport. The last transmission sent the aircraft was a warning of heavy rain en route to the airport. You can hear Air Traffic Control try to make contact with the pilots and also ask other pilots in the area for signals from an “ELT,” Emergency Locator Transmitter.
