Cathay Offers Limited Paid Access To Business Class Lounges

For a short time only, all members of Cathay Pacific’s Marco Polo Club will be able to enjoy paid access to eight of the carrier’s exclusive business class lounges around the world. The offer is valid between March 4thand June 30thand features access to the flagship The Pier lounge in Hong Kong.

For a limited time, members of Cathay Pacific‘s Marco Polo Club will be able to access the carrier’s business class lounges, Australian Business Traveller reports. Between March 4th and late June, all members of the carrier’s frequent flyer program can purchase access to eight different Cathay lounge spaces around the globe, including The Pier, Cathay’s flagship lounge in Hong Kong.

The offer ends June 30th and also includes access to lounges in Melbourne, Manila, Paris, Vancouver, Penang and Kaohsiung. This offer is valid even for those passengers who aren’t seated in one of the carrier’s premium cabin spaces.

According to the outlet, a one-time, single entry costs HK$600 ($76.4) per person, or 9,000 Asia Miles and entrants are welcome to bring guests into these lounge spaces.

For access to all lounges – excluding Hong Kong – interested parties can pay their fees upon entry.

However, to access the carrier’s Hong Kong lounge, the outlet advises that, “…travelers need to pay at the check-in counters in Terminal 1 or at the transfer desks in areas E2 or W1 if they’re coming off another flight.”

It adds that, unlike other lounges, payments cannot be taken upon entry. Payment by credit card is accepted, but the outlet advises that access to these lounge areas “is subject to capacity restrictions.”

Offering their comments, a spokesperson for Cathay Pacific told the outlet that, “This is only a trial at this stage and we’ll be reviewing customer insight during and after the trial period to decide the next steps, if any.”
