Couple Hosts Delta Air Lines Themed Wedding

Some travelers love to fly, but one Memphis couple took their dedication to Delta Air Lines to the next level by having a wedding themed after the airline.

Medallion program members Bess Wohlner and Jeremy Simons were recently married in Memphis during a Delta-themed wedding. The ceremony featured airport code table assignments and boarding lanes to line the dance floor.

The celebration also included Tumi first-class amenity kit gift bags, a branded Delta mat to walk down the aisle on, bag tag seating assignments and hors-d’oeuvres served with branded cups and napkins on beverage carts.

The wedding party was adorned with navy blue bridesmaids’ dresses and yarmulkes with bright red accents, and the officiant was a fellow Delta Medallion member. At the reception, the photo booth featured a green screen simulating an airplane interior, oxygen masks and decommissioned business seats from the couple’s living room.

The couple first met at a conference in 2008 and flew out of Los Angeles together often, which helped build their friendship. Years later, Wohlner and Simons were on the same flight from New York to Tel Aviv and fell in love.

“I knew it was love when he handed off one of his upgrades and delivered his first-class meal to me from the front of the plane,” Wohlner said in a statement.

With Delta colors, themes and branding incorporated into nearly every detail of the ceremony and reception, the wedding was a success. Now the couple is flying with Delta on their honeymoon, with scheduled stops in Amsterdam, Scotland, Seattle, Sydney, Vancouver and more.
