Delta Cargo has entered into a partnership with a pet technology start-up to increase the standards of safety and care for pet air travel.
As part of its new partnership with CarePod, Delta Cargo will launch a new pet transportation strategy that includes a range of smart, pet travel products and services designed to help Delta better carry and monitor pets throughout its network, the airline said in a statement.

News of the partnership comes in addition to airlines/delta-air-lines.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>Delta’s recent introduction of a staff veterinarian on the Delta Cargo team who reviews policies and procedures to ensure pets have both safe and comfortable travel.
“Demand for pet shipments is strong and we are always looking for ways to create a best-in-class travel experience for pets and their owners,” said Shawn Cole, vice president — Delta Cargo. “Working with a start-up like CarePod allows Delta the flexibility to enhance our service in new and innovative ways. We are able to think big, start small and learn fast to solve specific customer needs.”
Beyond its partnership with CarePod, the airline said its team of specialists is constantly reviewing processes and policies to identify areas of improvement to ensure the safety and health of pets.

Delta’s new Cargo Control Center in Atlanta also gives the airline 24/7/365 visibility into all shipments, including pets.
