Delta Expanding Winter Service to Europe

Delta Air Lines continues to connect travelers to destinations across the world.

The carrier announced Monday it will expand its service between John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City and Lisbon Portela Airport in Portugal starting on October 27, building off the airline’s success with the route between Atlanta and Lisbon.

Also starting on October 27, Delta will add service from Los Angeles International Airport to both Paris and Amsterdam. The seasonal routes were launched in June, but the carrier has extended the service to year-round operations.

Previously, the airline announced it would launch service between Indianapolis and Paris on May 24, and Delta officials revealed the route would continue through the winter. The carrier will operate Indianapolis’ only nonstop service to Europe when the Indianapolis-Paris flight debuts.

“Delta customers on both sides of the pond have told us more flying between Europe and the U.S. is valuable to them and we’re very excited to make more nonstops to the U.S. from Paris, Amsterdam and Lisbon through the winter season a reality,” Delta senior vice president Dwight James said in a statement.

Another new route Delta is promoting will run between Orlando and Amsterdam and launch on March 30. The non-stop flight will also offer one-stop connections to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.

On the other hand, Delta announced it will discontinue service on October 27 between Newark Liberty International Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, but travelers can still visit France via five daily flights from JFK International.
