Delta Named a Company That Cares for Fourth Year Running

WHY IT RATES: Once again Delta is being recognized for not only creating an outstanding workplace but also for its active community involvement.—Mia Taylor, TravelPulse Senior Writer

The Center for Companies That Care has once again recognized Delta as a ‘Socially Responsible Employer’ on its annual Honor Roll.

The companies and organizations on the list share the common denominator of outstanding workplace practices and active community involvement that reflect employer engagement.

Based on two key components involving employee surveys and a written application, Delta qualified for the award by exemplifying the 10 Characteristics set forth by the non-profit, some of which include:

— Volunteering in the community

—Cultivating the full potential of employees

—Supporting the pursuit of work/life balance

—Taking into account the human toll when making business decisions, and sustaining an inclusive work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees.

“As we look back over the past 17 years, much has changed. But what hasn’t changed is that the companies on this list are true examples of forward-moving companies,” said Marci Koblenz, co-founder, and president, Companies That Care.

“We believe employee engagement begins with engaged employers, such as Delta. Our Honor Roll companies take into account the human toll—whether the humans are their employees, customers, or other stakeholders—when making their business decisions. That practice has helped them grow and prosper.”

Those named to the 2019 list feature privately held and publically traded U.S. organizations as well as not-for-profit employers representing multiple industries and states. The full list of recognized employers appears at companies-that-care.org.

Center for Companies That Care is a national, 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to channeling the power of businesses to dramatically increase the college graduation rate of underserved students.
