Ed Bastian tackles social responsibility with NFL star Larry Fitzgerald

Larry Fitzgerald, philanthropist and professional athlete, to join Ed Bastian for a conversation on social responsibility and using your voice for the greater good. 

Delta CEO Ed Bastian will welcome philanthropist and NFL star Larry Fitzgerald for the fifth episode of Gaining Altitude on Nov. 18 for a discussion on leadership and social responsibility in a turbulent world.

Fitzgerald started his professional football career after being selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the first round of the 2004 NFL draft. The 11-time Pro Bowler played for 17 seasons with the Cardinals, where he set several NFL records.  

Off the field, Fitzgerald created The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation to close the reading and technology gap in under-resourced schools. He also funds breast cancer research and support services – a cause near and dear to the Delta family – in honor of his late mother. Fitzgerald has made grants of funds and computer equipment to dozens of Arizona and Minnesota schools to equip thousands of students to meet their educational goals.  

Gaining Altitude is an enlightening series of conversations worth navigating, connecting people while building understanding around the globe. Bastian hoststhe one-on-one discussions with insightful leaders, covering topics including diversity, equity and inclusion, servant leadership, entrepreneurship, sustainability and mental health.  

Fitzgerald will be the fifth guest invited by Bastian to appear on Gaining Altitude. The series premiered featuring Tristan Walker, the founder and CEO of Walker and Company Brands and the founder of the non-profit Code2040.
