Fuel Truck Clips American Airlines Flight Departing for Miami

American Airlines passengers bound for Miami had a bit of a scare this morning when a fuel truck clipped the wing of their plane.

American Airlines flight 1240 had 172 passengers on board and was on its way to depart from LaGuardia Airport Terminal B when a fuel truck struck the winglet of the aircraft at 6:51 a.m.

No injuries were reported but passengers had to deplane and move to a different aircraft which will depart this morning.

While there appeared to be minor damage to the wing, the aircraft has been taken out of service so that the maintenance team can evaluate the full scope of the damage.

This isn’t the only runway havoc that has occurred this week.

On Tuesday, an American Airlines flight bound for Philadelphia from Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville airlines/flight-aborts-takeoff-after-plane-hits-deer-on-runway.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>struck a deer while taking off, causing passengers to have to deplane.

Then yesterday, an agitated passenger on a airlines/airline-passenger-opens-cabin-door-deploys-emergency-slide.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Frontier Airlines flight from Cancun to St. Louis, Missouri, opened the cabin door which deployed the emergency slide, causing passengers to deplane and be rerouted as the maintenance team inspected the aircraft.
