Winter is an ideal time to visit Canada, especially for adventure lovers. It may be snowing outside, but that doesn’t keep anyone inside. On the Slopes

One of the most popular activities for winter travelers is skiing and the former home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Whistler Blackcomb, is one of the best places to undertake the sport. It is one of the largest ski resorts in North America and visitors will find a host of accommodation options from luxury hotels to cozy condos, as well as a range of activities that include skiing, heliskiing, bobsledding and more, there’s enough to keep travelers busy all winter long.

Ice hotels are a rite of passage in many cold-weather locales, and in Quebec, the Hotel de Glace offers accommodation constructed from snow and ice. The hotel is located not far from Quebec City and features beds on blocks of ice, ice sculptures, artistic lighting, and even whirlpools and fireplaces.

Air Canada offers flights to Quebec City from major gateways in North American including Toronto, Montreal, New York, and Chicago.

Quebec Winter Carnival

Also in Quebec City is the Quebec Winter Carnival, which will take place February 1-17, 2019.

The carnival comes to life at the peak of winter has been celebrated annually since 1955. Visitors from around the world travel to the Quebec during the event for snow sculpture competitions, the effigy of Bonhomme, ice slides, night parades and more.
