Kansas Teenager Supplies Pizza Lunch for TSA Agents Impacted by Shutdown

A teenager in Kansas organized the donation of a free pizza lunch to Transportation Security Administration workers who have not been paid due to the partial federal government shutdown.

According to KSN.com, 15-year-old Aislynn Buckner heard that 80 of the TSA employees working at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport missed out on their paycheck due to ongoing battles in Washington D.C. and decided to do something about it.

On Friday, Buckner and her mother brought 20 pizzas and six orders of breadsticks that were provided by the Pizza Hut at Hillside and Central in Wichita to the airport for the TSA employees impacted by the government shutdown.

“When I first realized that the government had been shut down and that the TSAs in the airport weren’t getting paid, I thought maybe it would be nice to just get them lunch,” Buckner told KSN.com. “I just felt bad, I was like I got to do this, it just clicked in my mind.”

Generous donors provided the money to purchase the food. As for how the airlines/tsa-approves-days-pay-holiday-bonus-for-unpaid-agents.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>TSA employees enjoyed the lunch, some were reportedly moved to tears and Buckner received ample handshakes and hugs.

Buckner is also a 2018 Youth Ambassador for the LGBTQ community and works hard to give back to people in need. She heard about the impacted TSA agents and started looking into helping them because of her father, who is in the Air Force.
