To use the tool, travelers must open a flight search in the KAYAK app and click the new bag measurement tool option. Once users scan the floor to calibrate measurements, they will be instructed to move the camera around the bag to capture its size.

KAYAK’s app will determine the bag’s exact measurements and let passengers know whether or not the luggage can be used as a carry on or if it needs to be checked. The app is compatible with the baggage policies of all major airlines and can be found on updated iOS devices.
