Loreto, Mexico Lands New Service from American Airlines

Adventure travelers who enjoy kayaking, diving, hiking and being with nature along with those travelers who enjoy beautiful scenery, tranquility and a taste of luxury now have new options to make their way to the magical city of Loreto, Mexico.

On December 17 American Airlines launched daily service to Loreto, Mexico from Phoenix, Arizona with Saturday service from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas beginning two days later on December 19.

Bobby Laurie, Juan Albarran, The Governor of Baja California Sur & The Secretary of Tourism.

Television travel expert and host of the national travel television show “The Jet Set,” Bobby Laurie, was onboard the historic first flight from Phoenix. “I was excited to experience the inaugural flight and witness how happy that plane landing made so many in Loreto.” Until now the only service offered to the United States was via Alaska Airlines and their hub in Los Angeles. “The flights from from Phoenix and Dallas will allow more travelers the chance to experience this magical city and the scenery around it. The increased competition should also help to keep prices reasonable,” Laurie added. Bobby Laurie and Juan Albarran of “The Jet Set” and “The Jet Set en Espanol” remained in Loreto for four days to film segments for the show that will air in January and February.

Upon arrival of the first Phoenix flight all passengers were greeted by the Governor of Baja California Sur, Carlos Mendoza Davis. In an interview with The Jet Set airing in January, The Governor told Bobby Laurie: “It’s going to be a lot easier for anyone in The US, Canada and around the world to visit the wonders of Baja California Sur.” He also spoke about the precautions in place for COVID-19 stating “if you feel like going out and traveling we’re doing a very good job in Baja California Sur taking care of the people that visit us….I would like to invite everyone to come and visit us you will safe here. And, please if you do come, take very good care of the people you find because we also want to stay healthy and avoid COVID. So if you take care of you, you take care of us, we’ll take care of us, and we’ll take care of you.”

Loreto, Mexico is the first capital of Las Californias, a truly magical town surrounded by mountains and the Gulf of California that will surprise you with its relaxed lifestyle and the warmth of its people. As a tourist destination many enjoy the outdoors with hiking, diving, kayaking, snorkeling and the like but the town is also known for their quiet and luxurious vibe that allows you rest and relax.
