Man Forced to Sit in Dog Feces During Delta Flight

Delta Air Lines was forced to apologize after a passenger sat in dog feces during a flight.

According to WNEM.com, Matthew Meehan had just boarded his Delta flight from Atlanta to Miami when he and the passenger next to him discovered they had sat in feces left on the seat by a sick service dog.

The two men walked to the front of the plane to clean the feces off their clothes and inform the flight attendant of the mess. A crew member handed the men paper towels and miniature bottles of Bombay Sapphire gin and told the passengers to clean themselves up.

As they attempted to clean the feces from their clothes, attendants continued to board the plane and informed the men there was nothing more they could do. The passengers were provided with a blanket to put over the feces during the flight, but the scent was overbearing during the two-hour flight.

While Meehan revealed airlines/delta-proposes-minneapolis-st-paul-to-shanghai-route.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>Delta offered him a refund for the inconvenience, he hopes the incident forces the airline to look at its current policies and make necessary changes.

Delta released an official statement to WNEM.com:

On Nov. 1, an aircraft operating flight 1949 from Atlanta to Miami was boarded before cleaning was completed following an incident from a previous flight with an ill service animal. Delta apologizes to customers impacted by the incident and has reached out to make it right, offering a refund and additional compensation. The safety and health of our customers and employees is our top priority, and we are conducting a full investigation while following up with the right teams to prevent this from happening again. Upon landing in Miami, the aircraft was taken out of service to be deep cleaned and disinfected.
